I bought a resale flat in feb 2010. I took up HDB concessionary loan and CPF housing grant.

Due to some family reasons, i will have to move back to my parents' flat. I have to be a caregiver for my parents and they being very reluctant to leave their flat, i have no choice but to move in back with them, instead of them moving in with me.

If i am able to settle my outstanding HDB loan in full and also return my housing grant, will i be able to rent out my whole flat?

Afternoon Deen,

As your current unit have not fulfilled MOP yet, it would be rather unlikely that HDB will grant your request. In the worst case, HDB will have to take back your unit, paying you nothing more than the valuation and you returning the CPF grant with interest.
However, you never know till you try it.

All the best.

Hi Deen,

In your case, you wish to write into HDB to allow you to rent out your HDB while you shift back to your parents place. Do take note that the period rented out will not be taken into consideration for your minimum occupation period.

Contact me further should you require further assistance.
