I am below the age of 35 and is Single. I live with my divorcee mother who is 59 yrs old and an 8 yr old niece. We are currently renting a one-rm flat from HDB. Our combined income gross total is $3,200. I'd like to buy a resale flat with my mother. Am I eligible to take up HDB loan? And no, I'm not interested in BTOs/new flats. Our CPFs are not much but we do have a considerable amount of cash money savings.
Also, will we be able to use the amount in my mother's retirement account (RA) to pay off some of the loan or strictly just from the ordinary account (OA)?

Evening Noor,

You can purchase the unit under public scheme with you are owner and mum as essential occupier. Depending on how much cash you have, you might be financially eligible to purchase 3 room flat. As for how much CPF your mother can use from RA to finance the purchase, you will need to get written approval from CPF before you move forward.

Hi Ms Noor

Thanks your question.

If your mum is first timer in applying for HDB loan and all other criteria met then you could also apply for CPF grants to boost up your possibilities in buying a flat, such as :-

- Family Grant of $30k
- Additional Housing Grant - $20k
- No more OA Account can be used but can pledge half from the CPF which is approx $58,500.00

Please note that for all these to take place I need to have a thorough understanding the background of your case first.

Should I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me at 81122213  . =)
