I am a singaporean and married my husband is on a long term visit pass and we plan to buy over my grandparents house.
May I know if this is possible ?
Or must he obtain his PR first then we can proceed to purchase the flat ?
And if he gets his PR then from there how do we proceed to purchase my grandparents flat and what are steps and procedures to it ?
Kindly please advise me on this thank you .

Hi,

1) SC + FR on LTV is eligible to purchase an HDB flat under the "Non-Citizen" Spouse Scheme.
2) There is no ABSD for your matrimonial home.
3) You shall be the only owner, your husband will be the essential occupier in this purchase.
4) There is no issue at all to buy over your relative's flat.
5) Since this is your grandparents' house, not sure what is the remaining lease.
Use the younger age + remaining lease of the flat >= 95. If this is lower than 95, you have to check using the CPF website to check the percentage of CPF allowed to use in this purchase.
https://www.cpf.gov.sg/eSvc/Web/Schemes/CpfHousingUsage/Input2
6) The rest are the same, sign an OTP, submit for valuation, exercise the OTP, submit a resale application.
Please refer to the HDB website for instructions on resale procedures.

Hope the above answer to your main concerns, but if there are more query, please feel free to contact me at 90110636  , or email: ling.ck7@gmail.com if more information is needed.
