I am a singapore pr holder and coverted to singapore citizen, at the moment i already own a double storey landed house in malaysia before converted to singapore citizen, so if want to purchase bto then is it can? wife is still remain as singapore pr and is a malaysian

As you current own an overseas property, you are not eligible to purchase a HDB flat.

Should you wish to purchase a HDB flat, you will be required to dispose off your overseas property, and then serve a wait out period, 15 months for resale HDB flat, and 30 months for BTO application.

Good afternoon,

You need to dispose off your overseas property first and observe a waiting period of 30 months before you can purchase a BTO. If you are looking at resale HDB, you have to do the same but wait 15 months. Unless both of you are 55 years old and above, you are eligible to purchase up to 4RM flat.

You are unable to purchase both BTO or resale HDB given that you are owner of a residential property outside Singapore. Your property must be disposed off and you will be required to wait for a 15 months period before you are eligible to purchase a resale HDB, unless you are 55 years old or older, then you are eligible to purchase a 4 room HDB resale flat or smaller unit. If you are planning to apply for BTO, your wait out period is 30 months after the disposal of your property in Malaysia.

Hi,

1) In order to be eligible to buy an HDB flat you must not own any private residential property.
2) The wait-out periods after selling your private residential property are as follows:
(a) Resale HDB flat: 15 months
(b) BTO: 30 months

3) The same is applicable to an HDB loan. The wait-out period is 30 months after selling your private residential property.
4) If you intend to apply for a grant when buying a resale HDB flat. the wait-out period is also 30 months.
5) You are eligible to apply for a family grant of $70k once you satisfied the wait-out period when buying under SC/SPR family nucleus.
