I am a Singapore Citizen, 36 years old, single, have been working in Thailand(Thai company) for more than 6 years, and I will continue to work in Thailand.
None of my salary has been remitted to Singapore. I have not contributed to CPF or paid income in these years.I worked in Singapore for about 10 years and so I still have some CPF savings. I intend to buy a HDB flat under the single’s scheme. This will be my first time buying.
I have no idea of the current HDB rules and regulations. They change all the time. My 2 biggest concerns are:

1) Can I get a loan from HDB or bank if I work in Thailand? Do evidence of income and payment of income tax in Thailand help?

2) After buying the flat, can I rent it out immediately? What conditions bind me?

Morning Ben,

You are eligible to purchase HDB unit under single scheme, as long as you are still a citizen.
In order to obtain a loan, it would be good to have your 1 year payslip and company letter, proving your status of employment.
Upon the approval, then we'll hunt for the unit. After key collection, you can apply through HDB for renting out of whole unit, due to your oversea work requirement.

Do feel free to contact me for further assistance.
