Hi, there shouldn't be any stamp duties incurred when inheriting the private property. However, seller stamp duty may apply if you plan to sell it. You can check with the lawyer acting out the will.

If you are currently or planning to find a property agent, I can assist.

I am assuming you own 25% of the property, with balance 75% owned by the other 3 beneficiaries. It will depend on whether these 3 other beneficiaries are willing to sell their share to you and at what price. Read More

In Singapore, you generally do not need to pay any stamp duty when inheriting a private property, regardless of the following:

Number of beneficiaries (in your case, you are one of four)
Year the property was purchased (property purchased in 1971)
Inheritance tax on all assets, including properties, was abolished in Singapore on February 15, 2008. However, there might be other costs associated with inheriting a property, such as:

Administrative costs: These can include probate fees and legal fees associated with settling the estate.
Taxes on the sale of the property (if applicable): If you decide to sell the property in the future, you might be liable for capital gains tax depending on the property's market value at the time of sale and the purchase price in 1971.
Recommendation:

Consult a lawyer specializing in inheritance matters. They can review the specifics of the will and advise you on any potential costs or tax implications related to inheriting the property.
