Hi, myself(SC) and my wife(foreigner with LTVP) are applying for HLE. She is now working overseas. Should i input her as an occupier that is employed without cpf contribution or unemployed? i understand that this would greatly affects the amount we are able to loan from HBD. Please advse.

Hi Mr. Christopher,

1) You will have to include her as occupier to apply if you are under age of 35. As you are not allowed to purchase HDB flat if you are single and under age of 35.
2) Whether your spouse is included in the HLE does not make any difference. As her income is not going to be considered in the HLE amount.
3) She cannot be an owner for a HDB flat since she is a foreigner.
4) If she is still holding LTVP, she will not has a CPF account, unless your case is unqiue.

Based on your above description, there is no impact on your HLE loan amount, as your Wife is a non-Citizen and is not allowed to be the owner, hence her income will not be taken into account for your loan.

You must also include her as the essential occupier of the flat, as you're married and it will be your "family nucleus" under Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme.
