Hi, my wife and I are currently using our cpf oa to pay for our hdb. We intend to purchase a private condominium a few months from now, while keeping our hdb.

We understand that the cpf rule is that oa can only be used to service one property, and that if you want to use oa to service a second property, the total amount of oa and sa must meet half the minimum sum, which is $77.5k.

We are exploring this option: to use cash to top up our oa (principal amount and accrued interest) so that it is 'freed' from my hdb servicing. Thereafter we hope to use our oa to service our second property.

Hi there, besides the loan limit and CPF restriction, you will also have to tackle the issue of additional stamp duties. actually, there are a lot of ways to go about achieving your second property without having to go through the min sum and at the same time using the full leveraging and also saving your absd. do drop me a call or e mail for a more detailed discussion on how to go about achieving your goals.
Cheers

Hi, I'm aware of the absd and etc but my wife and I are SC and we will definitely want to keep our hdb so I guess absd can't be avoided.
