Hi,

You need to wait out 30 months after selling the private condo before you can apply for new EC from developer, and also not exceed 14k per month for household income. There is no such requirement for resale EC.

May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

As you are the current owner of private property, you will not be eligible to purchase new EC from HDB. However, you can look at resale EC.

Dear Mdm,

Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for a new EC after you sell off your private property as under the current ruling, you will need to wait out a 40 months period before you are eligible.

For your case, I will suggest you to consider buying a resale HDB instead as you can free up the cash from the private property and can transit smoothly from your property to the HDB without the need to rent a place in the interim period.

Hi,

(1) You and your daughter (under or above) can form a family nucleus, thus eligibile for BTO/new EC/new DBSS and all types of resale HDB flat.
(2) You own a private property, thus in order to fulfill the eligibility, you have to dispose/sell off current private property for 30 months before you can apply for one.
(3) To live without own property for 30 months is a tough choice, especially living off the mercy of the landlord; rent increment, all types of restrictions etc.
(4) Suggest to consider resale EC or even resale HDB flat where choices are broader. Especially HDB flat has better public transportation support, which is also a good opportunity to train up independency of your daughter.
(5) On top of that, you would be better off with the cash receive from the private property sale.

Alternatively, you may wish to look into HDB resale or private resale. There will be no such restrictions.

Hi Mdm, you can’t purchase a new EC as of now even after you have sold away the existing private property. But you could consider either resale HDB or resale EC unit. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.
