Hi i would like to ask about the new property measures that the government has imposed. I have recently bought a condo which is still undergoing construction and i am paying installments to the bank now. I've calculated, by the time the condo is fully built, i'm able to pay the sum of condo fully to the bank. Before that, i would like to ask if i want to upgrade to a cluster house now without selling my condo but to sell my HDB, do i need to pay extra fee or tax or any compensation to the government? or does the new measures affect me?

Hi Ng,

If you are selling away your HDB, you need to ensure that the Minimum Occupation Period, MOP, is fulfilled, which I believe that you have already done so based on your new condo purchase.

In this instance, the issue in concern will be the upfront payment for you next property purchase if you still have outstanding property loan.
