Hi

I wish to seek some advise if I can afford to upgrade to condo. I have a 4-room flat located at Hougang (near Hougang Mall & MRT). I am considering to sell it and upgrade to a condo. I still owe HDB about 144k and recently I learnt that my neighbour had sold their unit (one level below & condition much worse than mine) for about 380k. My wife and I have combined gross monthly income of 6k and we have total combined cpf balance of about 45k.

We are looking at moving to a 3-room condo in the north-east maybe Woodlands etc as my in-law is helping to take care of my child. I am not sure if we can really afford it and if our cpf from ordinary account can be used fully to service the monthly loan.

Appreciate if someone can enlighten me.

Regards

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

In your situation, I would believe that you should be talking to a banker first to do a proper financial analysis. They know best in terms of financial calculation based on your income and expenses.

If you do not have any specific banker to talk to, I can recommend a few bankers from different banks for you to talk to.

Afternoon Dennis,

The current going price for 3 bedroom condo in Woodlands is around $780k to $1.1m.
As I do not know how much CPF and cash you have at hand, it would be tough for me to assist you with the financial computation.

Do feel free to contact me for detail discussion.
