Hi,

I wanted to check if it is possible for me to buy a EC.
1. My wife is a co owner of a hdb flat together with her parents. The flat has been fully paid more than 2years ago.
2. i do not own any property and will be the main applicant should it be possible to buy an EC ourself.
3. Must the hdb flat be sold before we can buy? though we dont wish to sell it.
4. Can her name be both in the hdb and ec?

Hi

I assume you are talking about buying a new EC. If that is the case, you must have a family nucleus.

She may need to remove her name in the HDB flat.

You will not be able to purchase the EC unit directly under your name alone. As your wife name is already under andother HDB flat, she will also not be able to own the EC unit.

Will you be looking at getting a private property instead. All the above problems will not be valid if it is a private unit instead of EC. As for private real estate, you will be able to own it under your own name.

Hi,

I assume you are referring to new EC and there is a SC in the application. If so, she has to remove her name from the flat ownership and apply with you for the new EC and form the family nucleus. They may not need to sell the hdb if the parents finances are equipped enough to take over the ownership of the hdb.

Hi,

You and your wife must be the applicant for the EC.
Thus her name has to be withdraw from the current flat.
You may approach HDB 1st floor to get this done. All owners of current flat must be present for this.

Pls note that latest EC, Rivercove has only left with 20% available. Do act soon so as not to miss this.

The next and final EC is expected to be at least 20%~25% more expensive than this.

Hi Sir,

In order to qualify to purchase a new EC, you will have to be joint-applicant together with your wife.

Latest 6 months upon the TOP of the EC, she has to remove her name from the HDB flat. There is no need to sell the HDB flat if her parents can settle the finance part, i.e refund to her the CPF+Accrued interest that she paid towards the HDB flat.
