Hi, i stay in the marsiling area. Am thinking of moving house but we thought that there might be en-bloc opportunity in 5-10 years time given that our place is very near the causeway and waterfront. Anybody has any good advise?

Dear Lily,

Indeed, Marsiling has good potential due to the proximity to the causeway and waterfront. Should you hold on to the property now and wait to 5-10years later, what happens if enbloc did not materialise? By then, the enbloc potential will still be there so would you be back to this drawing board to seek advise?

Generally, I'd say that if you have determined that the existing prices for your area are acceptable for you to move on, then go ahead and move on. No one knows for sure what will happen in future. I understand that all owners wants to sell at the highest possible price, nevertheless, from a buyer's point of view, will you purchase a property that is already at the highest price with no further potential of appreciation? Leave some room of appreciation to the next buyer for this property to be an attractive buy, and you will also stand to gain from the transaction.
