Hi,

1) If you are an SC, once your current flat had met the MOP. You are free to buy another private residential property locally or overseas.
2) Note that you will have to sell all your private residential properties locally and overseas for 2.5 yrs (30 months) before eligible to submit your BTO application.
3) Under the new cooling measure implemented in Sep 2022, you will have to wait for 15 months before you are eligible to buy any resale HDB flat.

In order to be eligible for BTO purchase, you will be required to dispose off any private property whether local or abroad for a period of 30 months.

If your intention is to purchase a resale HDB or BTO in the future, it is best not to purchase the Malaysia private property because you will be required to sell the Malaysia property in the future when you sell and buy another HDB. Moreover, it may not be wise to purchase a Malaysia property because of the weak ringgit and the uncertain political situation.

If you intend to upgrade to a private property in the future, then the malaysia property will not affect your upgrade. Please feel free to contact me so that I can understand your situation and assist you further.
