The optimal approach begins with issuing an Option to Purchase (OTP) for your current unit. Once the buyer exercises the OTP, proceed to secure your next unit by paying the option fee for its OTP. This strategic sequence circumvents the Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD) for the second property, maximizing efficiency and financial prudence in your upgrade journey.
Smooth Transition? Aim for a completion date for selling three weeks before buying. This allows time for CPF refund and accrued interest to be back in your CPF account for the next purchase. Requesting a three-month extension from the buyer can make the transition even smoother.
