Hi,

I presume your MOP of 5 years has been fulfilled for existing flat. If so, the next step will be to apply for your HFE letter and to get the attainable loan amount for 2nd hdb loan, if you still plan to take HDB loan for the next flat. We will also need an approved HFE letter before you can option for the next flat.

Some questions to ask will be
1) Do you need to do a direct transition where you only want to move once? Or you are open to move to a temporary place before moving into the next flat

2) Do you have sufficient funds on hand plus loan attainable to complete the purchase first? If so, may be possible to do the buying first before selling. If not, have to coordinate the concurrent sale & purchase together so to ensure a smooth financial transition

3) Do you plan to maximize cash proceeds and don't mind bank loan, or prefer a 2nd HDB loan?

Hi,this can be done concurrently, and greatly depends on your budget. If you plan to do both concurrently, you can firstly apply for an HFE, which will tell you all the finances from grants to loan amount. Once you get your HFE, you can concurrently start to market your house to sell, with a requirement for extension. If everything goes smoothly, it can be done in less than half a year.

The timeline would depend on whether you have an interim place to stay. If you have an interim place to stay then the timeline can be more flexible.
