Hi Guru, my husband is SPR and currently own a HDB flat. He bought the house since 1998. I would like to ask, currently, as a SPR, can he buy another private property at oversea which MOP is over? Is it illegal for SPR to own a Hdb flat and private property concurrently?

Hi Wee,

Yes, your husband can buy another property oversea since he had fulfill the MOP. I have recently help my SPR HDB owner to buy a property in KL.

Hi Wee,

The general rule of thumb is that as long as you have fulfilled the MOP for your HDB, you should be eligible to purchase a private property and hold both properties.
