Hi all,

forgive me as i am very new in property industires/trade.

Just 1 very silly question to ask

I have a property belonges to my friend who is currently not in sg and he is looking for agent to sell the house for him (he will be back to get the handling and selling process) and i was assigned to help him for the process.... the question is if i find a property agent to sell the unit for him how much cut on the commission will i get (say a standard market rate of cut of the commission will i get) and what is the standard commission will my friend requied to pay once the unit is sold?

Dear Mr. Q,

Greetings!

It is better to sign exclusive with an agent as he/she would be the one marketing and carrying out the real estate works for your friend. And the market rate for commission is 2%.

Hi Mr. Q,

For selling usually is 2% commission from seller, however is still negotiable with seller.

As for referral fee to you, it is a side agreement between you and the agent. Most importantly, work it a win-win situation.

Hello Mr Q,

the service fee your friend will have to pay is 2% of the selling price plus 7% GST.

As for your cut of the fee, the standard referral rate is 10% of the commission. Of course this is negotiable depending on the value of the property.

Hi Mr Q,

Seller usually pays a commission of 2% of the selling price to the agent. As for referral fees, it is up to the agreement between yourself and the marketing agent. Do contact me for a discussion if you are comfortable as I am sure we will be able to strike a win-win situation for us.
