Yes its possible as its 2 separate properties and transactions. In fact it may be better as he/she can do a detailed financial plan and timeline coordination for you such that the transition will be smooth. It is however important to work with one agent who is professional and can be committed to your plans.

(a) you don't have to reveal your personal confidential info to more people unnecessary.
(b) The same person understand your needs and able to find a solution to best suit your needs.

2) The important thing is whether you are comfortable with the service render by this agent.
3) Most agents learnt the similar professional skill sets and knowledge. Some might know more in certain type of transactions than others. Thus if you feel that this agent is better only in one type of transaction you may seek for alternative advices.
