As a citizen, i bought a resale HDB without housing grant (after 30 Aug '10). I want to apply the BTO for new hdb flat next year as first time applicant. please help me to clarify some concerns

1. Do i have to sell off my existing HDB before i apply the new one?
2. If so, when i should sell it? can i sell it before i collect the key? otherwise i need to rent for 3 years.
3. is there any MOP to restrict on selling the resale hdb?

Morning,

You will need to ensure the BTO that you are applying for, does not TOP before your MOP matures. Hence it would be prudent to check with HDB when is your current unit's MOP and the TOP of the BTO which you are applying for.
You are only required to sell away your existing unit, after the key collection of your new BTO unit.
The MOP is introduced to prevent 'property flipping', by some of the HDB owners and making fast cash out of it.
