The Cross Island Line (CRL) is one of Singapore’s most highly-anticipated MRT lines.
Currently under construction, the Cross Island Line will be Singapore’s eighth MRT line and will have 32 stations when completed. The 50km MRT line will open in three phases, connecting the eastern and western parts of Singapore from Changi to Jurong Industrial Estate. The Cross Island MRT planned stations include popular housing estates such as Loyang, Pasir Ris, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Bukit Timah, Clementi, and the West Coast.
For those who want to live near the upcoming Cross Island Line MRT stations, we have curated a list of 10 condos you can check out. These condos are all within 1km (or slightly more) of the upcoming CRL1 stations, including the Ang Mo Kio Cross Island Line station.

Buying a Property Near an MRT Station
Phase 1 of the Cross Island Line (CRL1) is targeted to be completed in 2029. The 29km-long CRL1 comprises 12 MRT stations and is expected to benefit over 100,000 households across Loyang, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Serangoon North, and Ang Mo Kio Cross Island Line.
The proximity of an MRT station is an important factor to consider when buying, renting, or investing in a property in Singapore, especially for those who value easy access to public transport nodes. Given that many Singaporeans rely on public transportation to travel to work or school, this is unsurprising.
According to a study, residential property prices within 400m of an MRT station could fetch 13.2% higher on average than those further away. This is known as the ‘MRT effect’. As such, we can only expect that housing near the Cross Island Line will fetch a higher price once the stations are up and running.
