Real estate got a further boost when Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong declared the "Punggol 21-Plus" plan in 2007. This plan will not only comprise of residential areas but also many reservoirs for water supply along with other facilities which will be built.
Punggol HDB estate is a great place to settle down as this place is coming up with a project of 3000 units of flats every year and 96,000 flats in the long run. At the moment there are about 16,700 flats, with an additional 2,100 under construction. Punggol has opportunities for water recreational facilities, parks and cycling tracks that make the lives of the residents exciting and fun filled. There is also a new shopping mall set to be completed sometime within the next three years - one about the size of the renowned Bishan Junction 8. Dwellers can have a happy dinning experience with the many seafood restaurants and bistros available by the riverside.

Punggol HDB estate is situated in the northeastern region of Singapore. The neighboring regions of Punggol are Defu Lane (D19), Seletar (D28) and Yio Chu Kang (D19).

There are two forms of railways in Punggol. One of it is known as the Light Rail Transit (LRT) which focuses on travelling within the estate, bringing dwellers to the heartlands of the estate. The other railway is known as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) which aims at easing traveling out of the estate but within the nation. The LRT stations serving the Punggol HDB estate are Coral Edge LRT (PE3), Riviera LRT (PE4), Meridian LRT (PE2), Rumbia LRT (SE2), Cove LRT (PE1), Damai LRT (PE7) and Kandaloor LRT (PE5). The MRT station that serves the Punggol estate on the other hand is the Punggol MRT (NE17).
