Review of Orchid Park Condo

Visited Orchid Park Condo and decided to write a review about it. What I like about the condo: - Near Amenities (NTUC Fairprice, Sheng Siong, KFC, Mcdonald, Eateries all available nearby) - Near MRT (Khatib within 8mins walk) - Some units have reservoir view - Not much wasted space (no bay windows, small balcony, air-con ledge) What I dislike about the unit - Old (25 years old and interior is run down, will need to spend a lot to renovate to make it livable) - leasehold (remaining lease of 70+, means will be harder and harder to sell as it gets older - bank loan tenure will be shorter) - Small toilet (and I mean really really small toilet even size, plus size or tall guys/ladies will have problem bathing) - Facilities look worn (will probably need some refreshing) Will I buy the condo: - Probably not as it is a rather old and worn condo with a really small toilet. - Might have problem selling it 10 years down the road.

Can't be better than this

Great location, 10 mins to MRT, 5 mins to super markets, spacious, 2 swimming pools, sauna, jacuzzi. Its one of the best bargains in Singapore. I feel the condo is under priced.

Great Southern View of Singapore

I am no housing agent. I live at Orchid Park Condo since 1997. It has a great southern view of Singapore for most units. The best blocks are block 2 (east view of sg), block 3 (south view of sg), block 4 (south view of sg), block 5 (east view of sg), block 6 (south eastern view of sg), block 7 and 8 are both unblocked and all the bigger units face the reservoir. I like Orchid Park Condo because it is near Khatib MRT and market (about 5 mins walk); it is near to the Yishun stadium and reservoir (less than 3 mins walk). More importantly, it is cheaper than the Estuary in terms of psf. Although it is almost 20 years old, the facilities are well taken care of. I am most impressed by the management of the estate. Monthly maintenance fee is affordable at $200. The squarish layout for most units is ideal.
