Prices and transactions of resale flats fell in the third quarter of 2017, according to latest data released by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) on Friday (27 October).

The Resale Price Index declined by 0.7 percent, compared to a 0.1 percent drop in the previous quarter.

Meanwhile, resale transactions fell by 3.2 percent to 5,808 cases, from 6,001 in Q2. On a yearly basis, resale transactions were up 5.3 percent from Q3 2016.

HDB subletting approvals also dropped by 2.1 percent quarter-on-quarter to 10,698 cases in Q3. The number of HDB flats being sublet fell by 0.2 percent to 53,445 units.

The HDB said its upcoming sales launch in November will offer about 4,800 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Geylang, Punggol, Sengkang and Tampines, bringing the total BTO flat supply for the year to about 17,500 units.
