Jurong lifestyle and watersports hub

A new integrated community lifestyle and water sports hub is set to rise in Jurong, reported Channel NewsAsia.

To be completed in two years, the facility will feature a landscaped roof deck and bigger boat storage area. Meanwhile, the People’s Association will temporarily close the Water-Venture outlet at the lake. For almost 10 years, it hosted water sports activities in the area.

“In a few years time, just a few years, this will be an even more beautiful place,” said Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

“Full of trees, full of water (and) full of activity. We will keep the place as natural as possible, because this is a place where we can enjoy nature, and we can relax, as Singaporeans, in our own way, but in the middle of nature.”

He made the statement at a recent community event at Jurong Lake Park, where more than 1,000 residents turned up for water sports activities and a barbecue.
