Singapore property developments feature prominently in the list of 28 short-listed projects at the prestigious MIPIM 2014 Awards, with three of the finalists coming from the city-state.
Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay is one of the four projects to make the final list in the ‘Best Innovative Green Building’ category, while Sandcrawler at One North is up for top honours in the ‘Best Office and Business Development’. In the ‘Best Residential Development’ The Oliv @ Balmoral (pictured) is one of the finalists, and the only other project to make the list from Southeast Asia.
Commenting on the global trends in this year’s MIPIM Awards, President of the Jury, Michael Strong, Executive Chairman EMEA, CBRE, said: "We had a tremendous response to the competition again in 2014, with a truly diverse range of projects to judge.
“It’s interesting that many more submissions are for residential development or mixed-use including residential. It is clear that there is much more creativity around the design and expansion of residential living in city centres."
MIPIM Awards winners will be chosen in Cannes by a combination of the MIPIM delegates and the international jury, each group representing 50 percent of the final vote.
For the 3rd year in a row, the Special Peoples’ Prize rewards the development that wins the most votes online before MIPIM opens. The public can vote for this category as of 3 February on the MIPIM site and on the official event Facebook page.
