CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) has announced that Rob Blain, chairman and chief executive of CBRE for Asia Pacific, has received the “Industry Champion” award at the 2010 Real Estate Facilities Projects (RFP) Outstanding Individuals Industry Awards.
The awards, which recognise the contributions of professionals in the property industry throughout the Asia Pacific, is presented by RFP Magazine, a leading magazine for industries of the built environment and one of the top trade titles in Asia.
Under his leadership, Mr. Blain has capitalised on regional and local market opportunities to expand the company’s geographic markets, strengthen and diversify its business platform, and increase market share. He is also active in the real estate community through several industry groups and forums. Mr. Blain has also been recognised for his commitment to the community through charitable activities throughout the region.
“Already in its third year the Outstanding Individual Awards in Industry have proved to be a true barometer of talent in the industry, with consistently high number of nominations making the judges decision-making process extremely challenging,” said Claire Saeki, publisher at Facility Media.

Mr. Blain is in charge of the overall growth, strategy and direction of CBRE in the region. He has been with the company since 2002 after a 30-year real estate industry career in Singapore and Australia. Under his management, the company’s revenue from its Asia Pacific business has grown to S$524 million in 2009 from US$81 million in 2002.
