Hi,
It depends. If the wall is a non-structural wall, you will be able to hack it down and reinstate later. If it's a structural wall, you will not be able to knock it off.
However, my thoughts is that, if it's the space that you need now based on your family needs, I would advise you to get a normal unit instead of a DK unit.
This is because generally, DK units are priced much higher than the normal units due to the "investment component".
If your family need space now, you could go for a normal and bigger unit, where you do not need to spend money and hack off. When your children grow up and you wish to retire, you could restructure your property assets when the time comes. Sell away this property and purchase 2 smaller units, one for your own stay, the other to rent out.
I am experienced and well-versed in private transactions. I will be able to assist you in your property plans. Please get in touch with me for a more in-depth discussion.
