Hi,
1) You might have heard that the US treasury has an intention to raise the current interest rate to 1.9% via 9 rounds within 2022.
2) Although they had also raised the same call in 2021 and no action was taken back then. So it depends on your risk appetite whether you are prepared to bet on it where no action takes again this year.
3) Many analysts had also highlighted that raising the interest rate has little or no help to lower their high inflation rate ~8% by now. But foresee they properly will do something to show their effort.
4) Even though the was no raising in interest rate in 2021, some local banks here have already made minor adjustment to their mortgage loan rate. So you won't be surprised to see a higher rate when the US treasury makes their first step in their interest rate raising.
5) There were changes of 0.5% in most of the fixed rates in most of the local banks since 2021.
6) At the end of the day, it still depends on your buffer in your risk factor on whether should you make your switch before any announcement.
