I just try applying loan from the bank.I prefer to get resale unit than new launch as the price is much more attractive to me but is it right time to buy now or will the property market go further down and crash?

I personally do not think it is the best time to purchase if we are looking from investment perspective as the economical situation is too uncertain and gloomy at this moment. Nevertheless, if it is a home that you are purchasing, perhaps it will be more difficult to ascertain when is a right time to purchase since supply of units on sale will also play a critical part. It is likely that there will be lesser units on sale as prices slide further as owners are likely to hold back on sales for better pricing in future.

Be clear in your objectives set out and move along with that so that there will be minimal distractions along the way while you are trying to achieve your objectives.

There is never a right or wrong time to buy a property. Anytime can be a right time if you set your objectives right. Anytime is a wrong time if you are not clear on what you are doing.

I believe you will agree with me that in supposed down market like now, we can get value buys with low risk and high potential. Similarly, in a bull market where property prices are high and yet units are flying off the shelves, that does not mean what you buy will definitely be a good buy.

End of the day, ask yourself repeatedly what is your objectives in the purchase, and have a clear plan going forward. Research on the nearby properties you're looking at, and do a detailed comparison. Write these figures down on paper, look hard at them, and ask yourself if this is a good purchase.

Hi,

Is this for your long term family owner occupation? To say the property market will crash is too extreme as the government has repeatedly mentioned that it is not here to crash the market, and interest rates are still at an all time low thus sellers/vendors have some holding power. You would need a global economic systemic event for prices to plunge south. All views are my own and just my 2 cents opinion.

Afternoon,

Most experienced agents would tell you that there's no "Right Time" to invest in property. The main concern is your holding period, financial capability and purpose of purchase.
Investment markets have their standard recurring circle. Singapore property may not be at rock bottom but there have being movements indicating that buyers are returning. If you are looking at selling in four years time to avoid SSD, you might not be able to reap the maximum benefit. Therefore, holding capability is of great relevance.

Prices have stabilised and are likely to remain stable in the medium term as our government take steps to maintain and stable and sustainable property market.
