I have a CHILDHOOD friend who asked me to share a condo investment with her. The price of the condo ws $1.1M. Additionally, my friend explained the owner also wanted cash of S$150K. She said that the PURCHASE PRICE of the condo would be S$150K + S$1.1M = S$1.25M
Trusting her completely, I agreed to go into this deal .
However, soon after, when I received the legal document, I was shocked and surprised that the legal document only showed S$1.1M. I spoke to the conveyancing lawyer and she confirmed that the condo price was $1.1M. She was not aware of the S$1.25M tag. She advised me to speak to my friend.
It may sound really stupid to you but at that time, I felt pressured to sign the document as I had already paid for the option and the COV.
I was also too afraid to confront my friend as I was not 100% sure if my sixth sense was correct. Afterall she is a childhood friend who is almost like a relative.
Can you advise me if this is a fraud. What should I do next ?
