I completed a tenancy in mid-may and did a handover of the unit. However, it's been over a month and the landlord has still not refunded my deposit because, through his agent, they found some issue with the unit (after the handover). Unfortunately, I've not had direct contact with the LL and have only dealt with his agent (with whom, suffice to say, I've had one of the worst customer experiences). The only communication I received from their side (after many followups, reminders, warnings) was an email saying they will deduct almost half the deposit to get the issue fixed. Till date I have not seen the issue, and my requests to meet and discuss have been declined. What should I do?

Evening,

Why not ask your servicing agent to assist you accordingly? He/she should know how to get things done instead.

Many thanks for your reply Mike. My agent only advised me to go to the Small Claims Tribunal. She also helped me to dig up the title deed of that unit, to get the landlord's address (unfortunately, the listed address is the same as the tenanted unit). Beyond that, I'm not able to get much help from her. Are there ways in which she should be able to help?
