I am renovating a new EC. The developer/MC states that our contractors must have bought public liability insurance. Is this market practice, and how does this insurance work? I am considering either an ID (looking at a freelancer - I would have to foot the insurance premium) or source for contractors (do all of them need to have coverage)?
Also the developer/MC insists on a PE endorsement for hacking of non-load bearing walls, which we understand is not a regulatory requirement. Again, is this market practice? Thank you.
