I am a Singaporean and my wife is a PR. We have a HDB with HDB loan and grant. My HDB is 2 years old. Can me or my wife buys a oversea property, example in Malaysia? My friend told me that the MOP doesn't apply to us. Is that true? Please help.

Afternoon,

Kindly look into the documents which you have signed during your HDB appointment. Any interest in private property will not be allowed before you have fulfilled your MOP.

Hi Derrick

You wlll need to fulfill your MOP in order to invest in another private project.

There are some overseas project in Malaysia that are SOHO residential, which is under commercial title. If so, you do not need to fulfill the MOP to invest in them.

We are marketing some of these projects in KL. Good location at affordable prices.
