I am SPR divorced female with a SPR daughter whose care and control, custody is under me. We have been SPRs for more than 3 years and eligible to form a family nucleus together and get a resale HDB flat. May i know what happens to this flat if i remarry to a foreigner. You should be able to form a SPR household to purchase resale HDB. Assuming the eligibility is not an issue, if you decide to get married, the foreigner spouse has to be added as an occupant, but you should be able to keep the resale hdb since your eligibility doesn't change with the SPR household still intact. To confirm it's better to confirm with HDB branch officer or resale department on this.

If you and your daughter buy a resale HDB flat as SPRs, the ownership is tied to your current family nucleus. After you remarry a foreigner, a few things to note:
• The flat remains yours – marrying a foreigner does not automatically affect your existing HDB ownership with your daughter.
• Flat ownership – you and your daughter will still be the legal owners unless you later choose to change it. Your new spouse does not automatically get rights to the flat.
• If you want to include your new spouse – foreigners generally cannot be added as co-owners unless they later get PR or citizenship. At most, they can be listed as an occupier (not owner).
• Future purchase/sale – if you later sell the flat and want to buy another HDB, eligibility will depend on your new family nucleus with your spouse.

So, in short, the resale flat you buy with your daughter will stay valid even after you remarry. The only change is that your foreigner spouse won’t be able to co-own unless his status changes. Read More
