Hi, we got our BTO keys in Jan 2011, and due to personal reasons, we would like to sell and buy a re-sale house in another estate near to my parents. I'm not familiar with the terms and hidden cost. However,as I understand, we can only sell after 5 years, which is Jan 2016?
If the need to sell is urgent and require by this year, what are the clauses are we looking at and costs incurred..
Appreciate kind advice.

Hi, there are cases where hdb allow owner to sell their hdb while they have not occupy their unit for a minimum of 5 years. You would have to appeal and it will be a case to case basis.

Hi,

If you have an unique reason, you may wish to appeal to HDB to sell within MOP. Approval is on a case-by-case basis. Otherwise, you have to wait until Jan 2016 before you can issue any OTP to any buyers. Thanks and hope it clarifies. Hope to have the opportunity to work with you when your plans are firmed up.

Dear owner,

You need to write in to your HDB branch office to apply for MOP waiver. It will be on a case-by-case basis.

You can also pay a visit to your HDB branch office personally and the officer will guide you on the next step.

My previous client managed to get the MOP waiver after 3 years of stay. It really depends how valid and strong your reasons are.

For your case, we will need to present HDB with the necessary documentation indicating your urgency, to justify the sales prior MOP. They assigned officer will then look through your case and update you on the appeal status.

As you have not fulfilled the minimum occupation period of your flat thus you have to appeal to your HDB branch office before you are allowed to sell. Do take note it will be on a case by case basis.
