Hi. My unit’s owner’s real estate agent informed me several months ago that the owner wants to sell and there have been several viewings under agreement. The only related stipulation in the TA is: To permit persons with authority from the Landlord at all reasonable times by prior appointment to enter and view the Premises whenever the Landlord wants to sell the Premises.
They’ve given me about three months to move out if I wish. Although it’s an investment by the new owner and they won’t be living here themselves, I’m considering moving out because I’ve been told that the new owner will increase the rent, as my current TA will be terminated. The original owner has agreed to pay my moving fee and that’s pretty much it. The rent’s gone up so much and I really prefer not moving. I’ve purchase all my furniture when moving here because it was unfurnished. What more can I claim to the owner? Can the original terms of contract be carried over to the new owner for the remainder of my tenancy? I’ve lived here for 11 months now.
