Appreciate your sharing, sorry to share you are required to sell away the Private condo 6 months from getting the HDB unit key.

Unfortunately no, for hdb purchase you need to include both names for the purchase, meaning which you are required to sell away the condo within 6 months of the hdb legal completion.

Initially we have decided to try to write to HDB for early sale but since it was only 3 months left, eventually we waited for another 3 months while we looked for our next property. Hi Mdm,

I regret to inform you that this is not possible. Your Husband will need to include you as an essential occupier should he purchase a resale HDB flat.

This means that he will need to dispose off his current condo latest within 6 months upon the HDB flat purchase. Both of you would also be required to serve a 5-year MOP before you can acquire another residential property. Hence, you are not able to "be transferred" the condo.

Hi Mdm,

As a foreigner, if you take over the condo, you will incur an Additional Buyer Stamp Duty (ABSD) of 20% and your husband will not be able to buy a HDB without including you as an essential occupier. An essential occupier is not allowed to own a private property within the first 5 years of owning a HDB.

Unfortunately, even if you managed to transfer the condo to your name and your husband proceeds to purchase a HDB, as a married couple, HDB would require your husband to include your name as an essential occupier. You are not allowed to possess a private property within 5 years MOP and if you already have 1, you are required to dispose off your private property within 6 months of possessing HDB flats.
