Hi, I am living in a rented condo. The tenancy agreement needs to be renewed. How much commission do I have to pay to the agent for the renewal of the contract. Secondly, if I want to install a dish-washer, do I have to pay for it or the landlord and finally, if I want to replace the sofa, who will pay for the same. I would appreciate any information on my above queries. Thanks

Hi, for 1 year lease the commission will be half month of the rental. And for 2 years lease the commission will be 1 month of the rental. As for any replacement or new items that you wish to purchase, you will have to pay it for full. And also, you will need to let the landlord knows if it is ok to replace the sofa as some landlord would not let you do so especially when the sofa which they purchase years ago is a very expensive one.

Hi,

For rental renewal, tenant has to pay o.5 to 1 month commission to agent dependent on the lease. As for replacing or installing any white goods and furnitures provided by the Landlord, as tenant you will have to check with Landlord and wait their green light to go ahead.

Hi, any request should be discussed before you renew your tenancy agreement. Agent commission is half a month + GST for each year lease.
