Can a FR co-purchase a resale HDB with his SC spouse? What ARSD applies? what ARSD refund or remission are we eligible for? FR is the breadwinner, if co-purchase isn't an option, can i guarantor or co-sign the loan? Thank for the advice

From your query, it seems that you are not so clear about the rules & regulations with regards to the purchase of HDB. Why not engage a professional real estate salesperson to assist you? He/she not only is able to assist you in the administrative process, he/she will be able to negotiate a better price for you and you will actually save more money from there. If you are aged 21 years or above Your spouse must have a Long Term Visit Pass or Work Pass. The pass must have a validity period of at least 6 months and it must be valid at the time you submit your application to buy a resale flat. If you are aged 35 years or above Your spouse must have a Visit Pass or Work Pass. The pass may have a validity period of less than 6 months, however, it must be valid at the time you submit your application to buy a resale flat. If the Visit Pass or Work Pass expires during transaction to buy a resale flat, you must produce the renewed Visit Pass or Work Pass on the completion date of the transaction. For HDB, ABSD remission is given upfront by HDB. It would be my honour to assist you in your purchase of your dream home. Hi, for a PR and a SC to purchase a resale HDB unit, no ABSD will be incurred as it is considered the Matrimonial home. Feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. Regards Aaron 97308455  aaronchong2774@yahoo.com.sg Read More
