You’ve probably heard of or been to Junction 8 in Bishan, but did you know Yishun has a mall named Junction 9?
Opened in 2017, the mall is part of a mixed-use residential and commercial development together with Nine Residences. Nine Residences comprises two 11-storey apartment buildings and double-storey terraces, located just above Junction 9. The development even has leisure facilities such as a lap pool, gym, greenhouse, and much more.
With Junction 9’s impressive variety of dining, retail, and recreational options, residents of Nine Residences are indeed lucky to have this new mall right at their doorstep.

So what is there to do in Junction 9?

Junction 9 is a two-storey mall offering almost everything – retail, F&B, entertainment, wellness facilities, and lots more. If there’s one thing you should not miss at Junction 9, it would definitely be the food offerings.

Dining options

Al Ameen Kampung Seafood Restaurant serves a tantalising selection of pratas, fried rice and noodles, and seafood dishes. There is also Nene Chicken, a Korean casual-dining restaurant well known for their fried chicken coated with secret recipe sauces.
For those with a sweet tooth, there is San Gloo located on the second floor. San Gloo specialises in shaved ice bingsu, and you get to choose from 26 different flavours. What’s more, prices start at only $4.90.
If you’re craving something different, Wimi Ice Cream sells coconut ice cream along with a wide range of toppings. At just $4.90, you get a scoop of coconut ice cream served on a halved coconut husk, along with 3 toppings of your choice. There is also Fart Tartz, a cosy garden-themed cafe serving fusion pasta in jars, as well as cakes and muffins.


Like many other malls in Singapore, Junction 9 has a Miniso where you can get cute and nifty household items at a bargain. If you are looking at other ways to spruce up your home, you can also visit Darwin Interior Design or the Tupperware Brands S’pore store.
For electrical and IT appliances, Daikin Proshop, Huawei, Stealth Entertainment, and MS2 Mobile are some places that will probably have what you need. If you’re thinking of getting some jewellery, you can step into Ngee Soon – a store known for establishing one of the first few goldsmith shops in Yishun.
Young ones and toddlers won’t have to worry about feeling left out with toy shops such as Klap Klap and Nicho Toy. For couples or families wanting to do some grocery shopping, there is a Sheng Shiong on Level 2.

Apart from food, shopping, and fun and games, Junction 9 also has a number of education centres for children. This includes Berries World of Learning School, DSA + Educational Hub, iMatter Learning Centre Pte Ltd, and Mathsworld Learning. Parents waiting to pick their kids from class can pass the time by grabbing a snack or doing some window shopping at other parts of the mall.

How do I get to Junction 9?

Junction 9 is located at the junction of Yishun Avenue 9 and Yishun Ring Road. If you are driving you will need to take the SLE and take Exit 3 for Lentor Avenue. The nearest MRT is Yishun MRT Station. If you are travelling by bus, you can take buses 811, 860, 860A to Yishun Temporary Interchange, or 803, 804, 860 to opposite Block 314 at Yishun Ring Road.

What other amenities are near Junction 9?

For starters, there is Northpoint City close by. Previously known as Northpoint Shopping Centre, the mall’s new name is fitting given its sheer size and its array of dining, retail, and leisure options. If you are in the mood for sports, SAFRA Yishun has a wide range of recreational facilities such as pools, an indoor air weapons range, a tennis court, and an adventure sports centre. There is also Yishun Park, Sembawang Shopping Centre, and Canberra Shopping Centre in the area.
Those wanting to get away from the crowd can head over to Seletar Aerospace Park. Situated around Seletar Airport, the area is known for its eclectic mix of cafes and restaurants.
