Purchasing my condo at Seascape at Sentosa Cove was more of an investment back in 2012, and we rented it out for a few years. But we always got great feedback from our tenants about the property. When our kids grew up and moved out, we decided to move in and ever since then we appreciate the property even more. It’s so tastefully designed, the views are to die for, and its proximity to Harbourfront MRT station gives us access to other parts of Singapore.

Feels like a vacation
I rented out a condo at Seascape at Sentosa Cove in 2014. Back then, I was a looking for something close to Harbourfront Centre when I saw this property online. Since the blocks are just eight storeys high and next to the beach, it feels more like a vacation home than a regular residence. Every evening when I return from work, it’s like a mini vacation. The large balconies offer panoramic views of the sea and all the rooms are spacious with high quality fittings.

Limited facilities
This condo typifies all that is good and bad about Sentosa - the location is wonderful and the views amazing but the condo has limited facilities – pool, a small gym and a function room and that is it! In particular there is NOTHING for children either younger or older ones – no tennis, no basketball, no playground, table tennis. In discussions with the management agents, we were told that over 70% of the occupiers were families with children – yet, because the developer had designed a ‘luxury’ condo, there were no facilities for children (not sure why luxury and children are exclusive). We pointed out perhaps they should try to now deal with the facts (lots of children) and the reply was that they considered a slide but because of the cost (SGD 30,000 to put a slide in apparently!) it was rejected. We volunteered paying for a table tennis table out of our own pocket and for the use of all but this was apparently rejected by the owners as there was nowhere appropriate to put this. This can be only be decided by the owners but apparently there are only 6-7 that attend the meetings. Ergo, key decisions are made by people representing less than 5% of the flats in the Condo – that is what I call democracy! We also pointed out that there was some vacant land next door to the condo (the size of a tennis field, standing between two condos) and suggested that something could be done about it either by Seascape or by Sentosa Cove – we were told this was state land and that there was no intention or plan to develop it into anything. In other words - we have nothing for children and we intend continue having nothing!!
