sprawling resort in central sg
Ridgewood Condo is so beautiful with the resort thing going on, sprawling grounds, spacious floor plans and most importantly it's 999 year leasehold. practically like a freehold. located in the city fringe D10 (Tanglin / Holland / Bukit Timah) so it's easy to drive or cab anywhere. simple place but generously sized facilities, it's great staying here but do first double check your unit for any ageing issues left behind by previous owner. that's always a must-do for older housing like this. then all will be good and all will be glad. -

breezy breezy so breezy
enjoying the breeze practically 300 out of 365 days a year when i'm staying at Ridgwood Condo. thanks to the orientation and geography, with lush grounds, and right facing of the units, the breeziness here is unparalleled and it's so cooling. sometimes i don't even turn on my fan or aircon, or i just chill at the poolside and feel the nice breezes. good wind circulation is even more important as singapore gets hotter and hotter, but i still manage to stay cool despite seeing the temp climbing higher these days. helps to beat the humidity also, my clothes can dry properly and less chance of mould and mildew in my home. -

my family love it
such an unbeatable stay at Ridgewood Condo for me and my family. 1981 development hence the big size (think my unit is over 2,000 sqft), but nice hawaii feels of a retro resort, and many things around within walking distance. there's malls and public transport. won't go hungry. many greenery and beautiful big pool. we just love jumping in during a hot day, or we are using the courts. we did have some issues with leaks in the plumbing and pests but those were handled with some professionals and all is good again. -

Very spacious grounds
Very spacious ground. Estate has a few playgrounds. Facilities are well maintained. Security is on the ball. -

Pest, Light and Maintenance Issues
Agree with other reviewers. It is an old block, so even if you save on rent, you will pay for it in maintenance. As renter I pay for a lot of repairs even though things have just broken due to age eg lights, fans, fittings and fixtures. Be careful what lease you sign. Cockroaches are also a big problem. We also have leaking pipes in the kitchen. The concrete in the roof around some of the pipes is also decaying (more relevant if you are buying). Some felll off. The same happened with a neighbour. Choose apartment with light blocking curtains as it is very light at night. The management is very strict, but you would expect that for a large block. -

Ridgewood Condo
Walls are thin and can hear flushing and shower of your neighbour. The walls are very weak and tend to crack. Extremely poor internal. Constant issues with plumbing, pest (which is almost everyday and monthly need to call in pest control) and leaking kitchen. Need to walk to good 10 mins for bus. Rainy days its very difficult. On rainy units with balcony have major issues as rain water gets in when windows are left open. -

Ridgewood Condo
Extremely poor old piping. Constant pest issues (every month need to call in pest control for cockroaches). Piping in toilet and kitchen gets stuck and need to call in plumber almost quarterly. Kitchen leaks. Ceiling cracks. No proper follow up by management for piping issues. -
