1 Land Only for Sale - 999-year Leasehold in Tanglin / Holland / Bukit Timah

District 10 is commonly associated with the most affluent residential estates in Singapore. The usual overlooked perspectives in this area are the vast spaces of greenery that provides nearby residents with open parks, recreational centres and nature reserves.

The location also offers a wide array of delectable food that has allowed District 10 to attract substantial crowds every night. Such places include fine dining and prominent bars in Holland Village for instance Marmalade Pantry, Tapas Wine Bistro, Tango’s Baden-Baden, Harry’s Bar and not forgetting Wala Wala. Other popular eateries including Crystal Jade and Everything with Fries which is a local Singaporean start-up can also be found here. In Tanglin Village, alfresco bars like the well-known PS Café have also attracted notable numbers of visitors to its delicious dishes and great entertainment. Other than being a popular food enclave, District 10 also encompasses a considerable number of Singapore’s top institutions, namely Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road), Singapore Chinese Girls’ School, Hwa Chong Institution, National Junior College, Raffles Girls’ Primary School, Nanyang Girls’ High School and Saint Joseph’s Institution. This has made District 10 a top choice for affluent property buyers, inciting property developers to build luxury homes. Luxury Cluny Park Residence was launched in early 2014 by Tuan Sing Holdings and the 52-unit freehold project is said to have prices ranging from $2.3 million to $8 million for 2- to 4- bedroom apartments.

Holland Village forms the main crux of District 10, and with the newly-built Holland Village MRT Station, it has become more accessible to local and expatriate visitors alike. Several neighbourhoods also surround Holland Village, like the Holland Village proper that is a crescent-shaped area of shophouses; the Chip Bee Gardens that encompasses several ice cream shops and cafes; and Holland Close which is a large Housing Development Board (HDB) estate. Holland Village is also known as Singapore’s Bohemian enclave due to its myriad of art and craft stalls, art galleries, gift shops, novelty shops, theme party clothing stores, ethnic home décor articles and many other interesting shops.

Another main component of District 10 is Tanglin Road that adopted its name from the house of William Napier, who was a prominent lawyer and newspaper editor in Singapore in the 1800s. Today, Tanglin has been revamped to a lifestyle and education hub, as reflected by various colonial buildings next to Minden Road that have been used as dance studios or childcare centres.
