When I moved into my place 3 years ago, the rent was 2450. My rent was reduced to 2200 last year when I renewed for a third time due to negotiations. I have now moved out and in process of returning my deposit, landlord is only offering to give back 2200 instead of 2450. Is this legal? Agent is saying because I offset the rent during renewal my deposit is affected.
Surely this is not legal as I gave 2450 and should therefore be returned the same amount subject to damages etc
