Today I've contacted an agent, Mr. K. S. for a rental in Thomson area. The apartment is advertised here for $2500, but when I mentioned that I am an Italian professional, he changed price to $3000. Beside being disgusted by such a racist behavior, I'm wondering if any authority in Singapore can take actions against this type of agents.

You can the market rate around the area. Or you can find a agent that protect your interest.Rather than going direct to the owner's agent.
