My current tenants informed me that they were harassed by debt collectors from a local bank who demand payment for an unsecured term loan that was taken by the previous Filipino tenant who had already left Singapore more than 6 mths ago.
When I tried to explain to the debt collectors/bank credit department that the unsecured loan was taken by the Filipino tenant who had already left Singapore, and not by my current tenants, nor by me (the landlord), they demanded immediate payment as it is their policy to recover all unpaid loans/debts from the occupiers/landlord of the last known address of the borrower.
What are my options in this case, as my current tenants have decided to terminate the tenancy as they cannot stand the constant harassment from the debt collectors
