Hi, the status of your holding is not clear in the question. Is the property bought under Joint tenancy or tenancy-in-common? For the first type, both parties has to agree to sell, the contract is not legal unless all owners signed.

For the second type, from what I know, each "owner" can dispose his share to anyone he pleases in his lifetime.
