Moved into a rental property one month ago and identified repairs that were needed to the A/C, plumbing etc. Some were major eg AC not working in rooms.
We have asked for them to be fixed several times with no luck and have held back on the second months rent. The agent advises us to pay the rent & then commission the repairs ourselves and get back the money from the landlord. Can we deduct it from the next rent? Where do we stand legally as I think the landlord will stall or ignore a request for reimbursment.
