Me and my ex already paid down payment to bto, TOP Q2 2027. Got the bto using proximity scheme. The bto is close to my ex mother house.

Can I takeover her share, with my mother (age 70, currently has her own hdb)? She has to sell her old hdb within 6 months of key collection to the new bto?

When I am serving the loan and MOP at this bto, can I get married? I assume yes, and if my future wife also has a bto and key collection while I’m still serving MOP, how? Say 4th year of MOP then my future wife gets to collect key to her bto.

For the bto with my mum, after I get married, I should give up my first bto and ownership change to the new bto with my future wife right?

There are few eligibility lines you are crossing here. If you'd like, we can connect and I'll help you check with HDB on these matters one by one. HDB will not allow you to simply swap ownership of the flats as and when you like.

For instance, since you had qualified for the BTO in the first place with my ex, it is not guaranteed that HDB will allow you to switch the co-owner from your ex to your mother. They may require you for forfeit it.

Separately, HDB might instruct a married couple to sell / return one of the HDB units if you end up in the situation you described where it might result in the couple owning multiple HDBs at the same time, especially if you have yet to hit the required MOPs.

This is a complex situation with several HDB rules crossing over, so I’ll break it down cleanly and practically.

1. Can you take over the BTO from your ex with your mother?

Yes, in principle, but subject to HDB approval.
• You can request a change in flat ownership due to relationship breakdown.
• Your mother can be brought in as co-owner, but:
• She must dispose of her existing HDB within 6 months from key collection of the BTO.
• Her age (70) is fine, but HDB will assess eligibility and financing carefully.

• You cannot transfer ownership freely during MOP.

Hi,

1) The conditions stated on HDB web clearly spelled that no changes of applicant(s) is permitted.
You will have to appeal to the HDB to keep the chosen BTO with the replacement you intend.
2) You are not restricted from getting married during MOP. This is not against the HDB rules and regulations.
3) If your future wife also has a BTO. She will has to decided whether to get marry with you or to give up the BTO.
4) Honestly, I'm quite worry about the seriousness and stability of your relationship with her if this is a concern in her mind when she decided to get marry with you.
5) Once you giveup your BTO during MOP. I doubt you can be a co-applicant with your future wife due to the penalty imposed by the HDB.

In terms of taking over your ex's share of the BTO using your mother, this should be checked with HDB directly. Owning a BTO does not restrict you from getting married even if you are still within MOP, however, should your future partner also own a HDB, then arrangements to sell either of the HDB will need to be enforced.To retain either of the HDB, the remaining parties must then be eligible to be owners, in this case, if your mother wishes to retain this new BTO, your mother must then be eligible to retain this on her own, and if still within MOP, HDB has the ultimate decision on what can be done.
