Is there a market practice to grant rent free for moving into a rented HDB flat by Landlord?

Hi Sunnymonk,
No such practice for renting HDB flat. Rent free is only applicable to say renting retail shop, where the tenant needs to do renovation prior to business commencement. Thus out of goodwill, landlord will grant 2 - 3 weeks' rent free.
